Claude G. Théoret, PhD. President, Founder

Claude Théoret is a physicist with expertise in the management of innovation. One of the founding members of McGill University’s astronomy department, Claude was ranked first in the astronomy and astrophysics postdoctoral fellowship competition in Québec. He conducted his postdoctoral research at the Collège de France as a member of the prestigious HESS Collaboration. After teaching as a professor of physics and statistics at the American University in Paris, Claude focused his analytical expertise on Co-Word Analysis, Actor Network Theory and their practical applications. Claude has co-authored two papers in Nature, one in Science and his work on the mapping of the Nanotechnology community has been published twice.

Claude founded Nexalogy in 2006 is responsible for the development of our advanced analysis tools at Nexalogy Environics and manages all quantitative analytics. He also handles sales and account management.

Eric Steedman, MBA, MPhil. Partner and CFO, Founder

An expert in the issues surrounding sustainable business practices, Eric has worked in socially responsible investment for over 15 years, including three years as a portfolio manager for the Dreyfus Third Century Fund, where he oversaw more than $1.2B in investments. His deep understanding of the issues facing businesses in the socially aware marketplace informed his work as a strategic consultant for clients including Heritage Canada, Natural Resources Canada and Xstrada Corp/Kativic Regional Government. Eric is also the co-founder of Community Experience Initiative, a national charitable foundation promoting links between business schools and non-profit organizations. Recognizing the potential for social media intelligence to augment strategy, Eric’s expertise has helped Nexalogy Environics to become a world leader in understanding CSR from a social media perspective. Eric holds an MBA from McGill University and an MPhil in Political Theory from the University of Glasgow.

Eric joined Nexalogy as a partner in 2008. He serves as our Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for sustainability and CSR strategy in addition to handling sales and account management.

Guido Vieira – General Manager

Guido Vieira has worked over the past 15 years in information technology and project management, starting his career as a systems manager at the Royal Bank of Canada. He was the founder and principal consultant of Century Consulting in Vancouver before moving to Montreal, where he joined Memopix.com as a managing partner. Before joining Nexalogy Environics, he was responsible for the Project Management Office at Ubisoft Canada, where he implementing a number of Business Intelligence and ERP related projects. Guido studied psychology at Simon Fraser University, and has completed Project Management studies at the McGill Executive Institute.

Zachary Devereaux – Chief Analyst

Zach holds a BA in History from the University of Alberta, completed a year of graduate coursework in Communications Studies at the University of Amsterdam, and holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Alberta. Zach’s MA thesis was entitled “New Media and the North Korean Nuclear Crisis” and was the first major multi-language study of the North Korea issue on Google News.

Currently Zach is finishing his PhD dissertation in the Joint Programme in Communication and Culture at Ryerson and York Universities in Toronto. His dissertation is titled “”Object-oriented Democracy?” Political Communication on YouTube in Canada” and evaluates the role of YouTube in the Ontario 2007 and Federal 2008 Elections. His dissertation research builds on tenure as a Research Associate at the award-winning Ryerson Infoscape Centre for the Study of Social Media. Zach has also co-authored important studies on nanotechnology, gun control, obesity and tobacco policies. In 2008 Zach represented Canada with his work on nanotechnology given at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Working Party on Nanotechnology in Delft, the Netherlands.

Mitchell Richler – Head of Advisory Board

Mitchell has over 12 years of performance marketing experience in the online advertising industry. His deep understanding in the areas of distribution, customer acquisition, product development, and marketing has led him to work with online gorillas such as Experian, Blockbuster, IAC, Living Social and Beyond the Rack to name but a few.

Richler holds a BA in Political Science from Concordia University in Montreal. He currently sits on the advisory board for the Internet Marketing Executive Club (IMEC), and is a member of New York City Entrepreneurs and The Worldwide Young Professionals Network.
